Red oak wine made with Monastrell and Marselán
9,50€

50% Monastrell
50% Marselán
Cold pre-fermentation maceration for 3 days. The malolactic fermentation ends in brand new French oak barrels where the wine rests for 3 months. 13.5% Vol., pH 3.6, AT 4.3g/L.
Vintage 2021. Extremely rainy spring with significant mildew infections that reduced the amount of the harvest in Fontanars dels Alforins by up to 20%. Despite this, the grapes came in healthy and the quality was particularly good in the case of Marselán and quite acceptable for Monastrell.
This wine is the fruit of an exquisite combination of Monastell and Marselán from our Casa Lluch estate, located in the heart of Fontanars dels Alforins at 650 m above sea level. Dry vineyard which is 20 years old. Production of 2 kg/vine. Calcareous soils, very stony and clay-loam with a high percentage of active limestone.
José Vicente Gómez Carbajal
Intense red color with bluish edges. Intense aromas of fresh fruit, currant, strawberry and red blackberry. Spicy aromas, mint, thyme, as well as clove and pepper from French oak also stand out. Light and elegant on the palate. Very good structure, good acidity and balance. Medium aftertaste. The wine faithfully reflects with its elegance and personality the character of the wines from Fontanars dels Alforins.
The evolution in the bottle is very favourable. The fresh fruit evolves into ripe and slightly compoted fruit over time.
Consume between 2022 and 2025.
